First of all, I want to make it perfectly clear that I did steal this title from an article I read on hgtv.com, so go there to read the full article on Christmas decorating/staging. It just fit my topic so perfectly I couldn’t think of anything else to call it after I saw their title.
But, I don’t want to talk strictly about Christmas staging here.
It is the season and that’s what everyone is looking for but I also want to talk about all seasonal staging. Because I think it is important to always present your home to its full potential (especially when it’s for sale) and let’s face it there are lots of reasons to decorate your home with different themes throughout the year.
First the front door;
While it is important to hang an inviting/welcoming wreath on your front door during the holidays, it is also just important to have an immaculate entry at all times when your selling your home. Buyers will judge how your home looks on the inside when they are walking up your front steps with the Realtor, so make sure it makes a good first impression and a lasting one. Also, there are beautiful spring, summer and fall wreaths out there so go ahead and trim that front door.
For Christmas;
…and one for Fall

Your mantel;
Your mantel is a huge selling point. Make sure it is always presented that way. And sometimes less is more. A great piece of artwork, a couple of candles and some greenery can go a long way when you don’t have a holiday to celebrate. Just be sure you dress it up and make sure that any repairs that are needed are also taken care of.

Other key areas to consider when doing seasonal decorating, the powder room, kitchen counters and any sunroom or porch. Just as you would decorate your home for Christmas the opportunities to enhance your space and show it off to your “customers” are there all year-long, so be sure to use them to your advantage when selling your home.
And as always, you can consult a stager!
