I saw one of those Facebook jokes recently that read; I miss having to complain about the heat.
Which I do.
But there is something about a snow day.
I am lucky enough now to not have to worry about driving anywhere as long as the work I have gets done on time so, today I’m just staying in to enjoy the snow.
Reading, blogging, paying those dreaded bills and catching up on paperwork.
My dad made me this cute snowman a couple of years ago and he goes up as soon as Thanksgiving day has passed and stays up until about the end of February. I have named him Sonny and he does enjoy the weather. Our weather this January has been kind of crazy as it has been all over the country, just yesterday Sonny was warm with green grass behind him. Now today he is in the middle of a snowstorm. But he always has a smile on his face.
Whenever you can I hope you stop just to enjoy life….even if it takes a snow day to do it.

5 Things to Be Happy About Right Now~
Remote Start on my SUV.
Lunch this Saturday with a friend.
The beautiful Cardinals that keep landing in my tree right outside my window.
January 24; National Compliment Day
Microwaves
I’m thinking about making a button for this idea and trying to get it going across the blogoshphere. Something quick to post often that helps us all take a minute or two to be Happy. Any thoughts?
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today~

I found a post on my Facebook wall that suggested one buy or find a jar and fill with notes about the blessings in your daily life as they happen and then at the end of 2013, on New Years Eve perhaps, go through your list from the year and be grateful.
A Gratitude Jar
Because I tend to focus sometimes on the bad things that happen and they happen to all of us, I thought it was a fabulous idea and one I wanted to implement right away.
To have gratitude start the year.
To be grateful for the little things as well as the big ones.
Here’s my jar~
Can’t wait to see how full it gets.
I got a big one so I can put lots of little treasures in it.
~and~
I think it will travel from room to room to bless each space for a while.
I’ll share its travels with you.

Last year I posted this about what I read in 2011.
And as part of my New Year Resolution to read more-watch tv less, I thought I would again go through and tally the books I read.
According to my Kindle this was my 2012 reading list;
My goal for 2013 is just to read more than 2012.
It will be fun to look back and see and very telling if I actually read more it will be obvious. Wait, I will read more!!!

Have you ever had one of Those days?
Surely, you have.
I did yesterday……….
I wrote a post only to re-edit it 3 times…. after it was published.
So if you got an email three times that I had published a post ( the same post) SORRY! It’s just that I forgot to spell check and it drove me crazy.
I drove across town to an appointment only to remember I had forgotten my camera. Which for my merchandising work is not an option.
I went back home to get it and actually forgot why I drove back home.
Guess what?
I stayed HOME!!!
Decided I’d clean house instead.
And….. I really couldn’t even focus on doing that.
Who can explain these types of days?
What happens to our equilibrium that some days we are the windshield and sometimes we’re the bug?
I’m blaming it on the heat and the fact that a holiday was in the middle of the week.
I say we vote to make the 4th fall either on a Monday or Friday.
Oh, well….
I can always resort to some of this;
and the fact that the weekend is almost here.
Hopefully, today we can all be the windshield and not the bug:))
Sorry, if you don’t like that analogy, if you can think of one leave me a comment.

It’s been awhile……..,
Since I’ve written a post on what’s going on in my life, actually a few days since I’ve written a post at all.
We’ve been busy with family these past few days and weeks, sadly my FIL passed away. If you’ve ever been through that, I probably don’t need to say any more. I don’t like sharing a lot of personal things on my blog but I feel like I should share at least that much and part of the reason I’ve been absent.
It has really given me time to reflect on a lot of things. What’s important in life and what isn’t. Death will do that to you….real quick.
I’ve also done a couple of estimates for some pretty large home staging jobs. Both happen to be vacant homes that will require a lot of accessories to purchase. When I started this journey that is not where I thought it would take me. I assumed I would be doing mostly existing home staging but it seems to be taking me in a different path with more new and vacant home staging, for now anyway.
I have been working on my patio staging that I talked about here. But even that has gone slower than I would have liked. Most of the flowers and plants are done just a couple more to purchase, a little more clean up and a nice sunny day to take the photos and it will be complete.
Here’s one little pot that is done. My son was playing around with some extra concrete one day and fashioned this bowl, I snagged it!
And another little corner that is done……..
Although, I might add just a little something to it.
Going to spend part of this weekend buying accessories for my staging next week.
I plan on sharing photos with you as I go along. It is a beautiful home that I am strategically staging, meaning not every room is furnished.
Hopefully, it will help me get my blogging juices back, we’ll see.
Thanks for sticking with me and stopping by!

I just had to share what landed on the roof of my house yesterday!
I heard something, a big thud.
I Looked around for the dog, she was right beside me.
So, I didn’t give it much more thought.
And as I was backing out of my driveway,
this is what I saw……
Yes, a pair of ducks. A male and a female.
I can honestly say that I’ve never had a pair of ducks on my roof before!
There is a full moon this weekend,
……………..things could get crazy!

inI have tried several times to keep a daily journal.
I usually get a few days into it though…… and give up.
I even have this pretty little book to write in.
Last year on our mom/daughter weekend in Branson, Missouri, my mom purchased it for me and left a beautiful inscription on the front page.
It so sweet, its page are held together with ribbon.
So, I have given myself permission to pick up this book and start writing again.
Write without worrying how long I will keep it up.
Write without worrying about how it looks.
Write blog post ideas.
Write about work, everyday happenings and whatever else pops into my mind.
……Because I think it will be good for me.
……Because I need to clear my desk of all the post-it notes!
……Because I’d like for my grand-daughter to have journals that I’ve written in someday.
Because this book is special to me and needs its pages filled.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Do you keep a daily journal?
