Sunday I decided to take the Grandkids to ride the Carousel at the Mall.
Great Grandma went with us and though it was a quick trip it gave us all something to do and the kids had fun.
It is a great place with a beautiful carousel and an ice rink both built on the same end with the food court!!
Sylas was so excited, Grandma got a little dizzy!
We then hit up the other rides for little ones.
This was his favorite for some reason.
No stop would be complete without an ice cream treat.
Sunday Fun Day~
Going in my gratitude jar for one of my first blessings of the year.
Everyone was healthy, the sun was shinning
and it’s fun to spend some time with them even if it’s just a short visit.
It was a great day~
I realize my posting frequency has dropped.
But hopefully, I’ll get back in a rhythm again…. soon.
Tonight…… we’re having a Surprise 30th Birthday Party for my son.
Makes me feel old.
But why is it that when you look in the mirror you look older than you feel?
This weekend, I hope to start my fairy garden.
They have been popping up all over and I want to give it a try.
I plan on grabbing a partner, my grand-daughter and scouring for some miniatures to put in our fairy scene and getting it started.
Not sure what we’re going to use yet, but I’m thinking an old wheelbarrow, like this one.
It was our second annual Girls Getaway Weekend last weekend. Hey, you have to start somewhere!
We got to do exactly what we wanted, when we wanted to do it. Although the rain did put a little damper on things. It was a quick getaway, left on Friday and returned late Monday afternoon. We drove to Branson, Missouri and………….
Shopped some more.
Went to see the movie, The Hunger Games, which we both loved. It was one of the first books turned into a movie that I actually thought was just as good as the book. I’ve read them all. If you haven’t, I would definitely recommend them.
Anyway…….. back to our weekend……
Did I mention we shopped?
Here’s a little treasure I found.
Birds are a big trend this year, you’ll find them popping up everywhere. Check out the latest issue of Elle Decor and you’ll even find a little “diddy” about the bird trend.
I bought this to use for Home Staging purposes. We were thinking it would be cute holding lemons, used as a centerpiece for a cute tablescape and or with a little nest tucked inside.
I have big vacant home staging coming up so I’m anxious to find just the right spot for it.
I’ll share pictures of my bird-cage when it finds its first home. Now I wish I had purchased more of these. It’s really growing on me.
Thanks for stopping by today!
I have tried several times to keep a daily journal.
I usually get a few days into it though…… and give up.
I even have this pretty little book to write in.
Last year on our mom/daughter weekend in Branson, Missouri, my mom purchased it for me and left a beautiful inscription on the front page.
It so sweet, its page are held together with ribbon.
So, I have given myself permission to pick up this book and start writing again.
Write without worrying how long I will keep it up.
Write without worrying about how it looks.
Write blog post ideas.
Write about work, everyday happenings and whatever else pops into my mind.
……Because I think it will be good for me.
……Because I need to clear my desk of all the post-it notes!
……Because I’d like for my grand-daughter to have journals that I’ve written in someday.
Because this book is special to me and needs its pages filled.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Do you keep a daily journal?
I had the cutest visitor, my grandson, come and join me for breakfast.
He wasn’t very demanding, just wanted something to eat, something to play with and some hugs until his Daddy picked him up. Of course, he was dressed in kid friendly fatigues.
I was happy to oblige him.
So was the dog. Some fruit, cereal, turkey sausage and milk. Breakfast of champions. I think she got most of the sausage!
A fun interruption for the day.
He ended up getting to stay until after his nap. I really hate to give him naps at my house, I’d rather keep on playing but he was getting tired. Then his Dad finished up what he needed to do and picked him up.
One of the best parts of being a grandparent is that you get to have all the fun!
(Sorry for the eye squints, I had them stand in the sun, not such a great idea.)
My mornings always start with a few minutes on the couch with the hubs, a hot cup of coffee and until recently my two Bichons. Now, it’s just the three of us because we lost our dear little Ally on Christmas Eve day. This routine is so much a part of our day that our other pup Maisy almost gets frantic if we don’t spend at least a couple of minutes there. This is what we see…not the most beautiful scenery but it’s our reality and we do get to watch the sun come up. This was the view last week. We usually sit as long as possible and go over the previous days events, our schedules for the current day as well as talk of our kids and what’s going on in their lives.
I realized this morning that January is almost half over. Where did that time go? I am behind in the goal making department. I have been all over bogland and everyone seems to have their lists posted from personal to business and beyond. So we talked it over and this weekend (hopefully) we are going to sit down both separately and then together and make some goals. I already have some spinning in my mind for both and am anxious to get them on paper. I am a list maker by nature anyway so I love the thought of doing it. It’s just the “starting ” I am having trouble with for some reason this year.
January is a slow month for me business wise and I think not being busy is the problem. That and recovery from the holidays, starting a new workout program, some babysitting for the kids (glad to do it) and yesterday’s snow. This was the view out the window this morning.
Excuses, excuses, it is time to put pen to paper or in my case marker to board and get started. I do know things will happen without my goal list but somehow it solidifies things in my mind and heart and will give me some much-needed direction for the rest of the year. Then….. there is always real life thrown in on those plans, right?
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! Have you set your goals yet?
This post has nothing to do with home staging, merchandising, decorating or anything else that you may have stopped by to read because……..
It’s our 30th Anniversary today! Let me say that again, it’s our 30th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!
I can’t believe it…. we’ve gone through so much, grown so much, changed so much, laughed and cried so much.
I am so proud of US!
We get asked what our secret is all the time.
So what is our secret?
Be careful what you say to each other.
NEVER call each other names.
When your really mad and starting to list out all the things that hurt you, irritate you and frustrate you….STOP and start listing all of the good. Seriously, you have to get off that train and think about the things that they do for you, with you and because of you. If you don’t get off the “bad” track it will take you places you don’t want to go.
Do unto him/her as you would have them do unto you, it’s not always about you.
Pick your battles
Laugh some more
Stay in it for the long haul, the next person will get old, on your nerves, forget to take the trash out, forget feed the dog and like above; the list goes on. Just like the person your with now does. The grass is not always greener.
Sounds like we’ve just sailed right through these 30 years without any problems, think again. That is not the case.
We have just made the decision to stay together which is really what the secret is.
Here’s to US!
