I was going to post pictures of everything all decorated up. But I just don’t have the energy. Anyone else tired out there? And I am also realizing that in the scheme of things showing others how pretty things look is not really the point. There are other, more important things to focus on.
So, I am sharing a peek into the corner of my living room with you and that’s enough for me and I hope it’s ok with you.
I am going to take some time to read a little, sip some egg nog, finish my wrapping, maybe even squeeze in lunch with a friend before all the other festivities begin.
My hope is that you will take some time to slow down and enjoy something that you want to do, too!
Whew!! Was anyone else just a little on the slow side when it came to getting back to reality today? I was!
Part of my recovery process today (after working this morning) was spending the afternoon putting up my small tree in the living room. It is a 7′ slim tree and by slim, I mean skinny! I really like it though. The living room is small and it seems to fit right in. The family tree goes in the basement and this year I think I am going to go with a real tree. So, all the other decorations will go up first. I don’t want to buy it to early and I don’t like to make a huge mess so I decorate room by room after work or when I can squeeze in some free time until everything is up, hopefully by Thursday.
I got to spend part of the Thanksgiving weekend on our annual girls getaway shopping excursion. This year we drove a couple of hours and spent the night. We had tons of fun, ate until we hurt and walked until we just couldn’t walk anymore. But I really got a good start on my shopping!
I found some cute monogram ornaments at Pottery Barn that I am going to use on my table for Christmas dinner. I usually plan my tablescape early in December so if I need to purchase anything I can. And since I didn’t buy anything for Thanksgiving I feel like I can splurge a little for Christmas. Love them! Can’t wait to put it all together. Not sure if they’ll be tied on their table gift or used as a place card/napkin ring, time will tell. That’s what I’ve been up to, now back to work.
We’re about halfway through the month and even though outside of my normal activities, I have been focusing on my blog series and working on my guest room, the time has come to think about our Halloween costumes.
Now, I know this isn’t about decorating my guest room but I found some decorating ideas and photos that were just to cute not to share.
Did you know there were so many ways to decorate pumpkins? This is a small sampling…..
What about decorating your table?
How about your pets?
Happy Weekend Everyone!
This card arrived on my doorstep 2 weeks ago. Welcome to the world of Visual Merchandising always getting ready for the next season. Although it did take me by surprise because it just doesn’t seem possible that we are in that 1/2 of the year yet.
Before I agreed to take on this project, I did a little research. I found out the hard way to always check out companies that I am not familiar with! Williams Creative Group is a Creative Floral Design Servicing Company based out of Nashville, TN. They service stores such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Macy’s, Service Merchandise and many more. They hire designers from all over the US to go into stores and set up Christmas Tree displays, fluff and decorate them as well as other floral design services.
But really, who knew that there were companies out there that focus mainly on Christmas Tree set up and design? They told me that they have one retired couple that goes to 15 different stores in their travel trailer and do nothing but Christmas trees. That is how they supplement their retirement. Not a bad gig really!
So, I agreed to take the project and will be doing approximately 24 to 27 trees this October. Wish me luck. I’ll take some pictures and post during the se-tup if I can still hold my arms up.
