While merchandising this week I have come across several white sales. I know white sales are basically for bath and linens but it got me thinking about using white in decorating. I actually love both white and black for decor.
Wikipedia describes white sales as; a marketing strategy in which a store deeply discounts its merchandise to increase sales during a short period of time. It is believed that originally they were held in January with bed linens, (which back in the day only came in white) and during the month of January to keep linen makers in business during a slow time of the year. More than you wanted to know? Sorry.
If white inspires you, I say go for it…and don’t forget to take advantage of the real white sales this year. Check out Pottery Barn, they are having a great one.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
